Volcano Choir – Unmap (2009)

Una colaboración realmente bella, llena de sonidos conmovedores acompañados de melodías folk aunados a una rica experimentación musical entre Collections of Colonies of Bees y Justin Vernon de Bon Iver debutan con Unmap bajo nombre de Volcano Choir.

CALAS: Los Campesinos – Romance Is Boring (2010)

Como era de esperarse, las CALAS del 2010 se hacen presente y rápidamente. Sin más los  dejamos con: Los Campesinos! y su “Romance Aburrido” reabriendo así, la aclamada sección de CALAS de este año en curso.

Después de su pegajosísima y aceptadísima canción “You, Me, Dancing”, esta banda Indie regresa con nuevo álbum, cuyas 15 canciones (tenia rato que no escucha un disco con esta cantidad de tracks) son realmente aburridas. El primer single “There are Listed Buildings” no se salva por tantito, resultando ser una pésima canción como el resto de todo el disco.

Los Campesinos! logran con “Romance is Boring” 49 minutos de monotonía y reciclaje total.

Beach House - Norway (2010)

Al parecer Beach House logro hacer una especie de "hit", que no deja de sonar en la radio y por doquier. Y es que ya era justo, pues tras su grandioso segundo album Devotion (de mis 10 favoritos del 2008), esperaba con ansias su proxima producción.

Aunque no esperaba que volvieran tan pronto y tan fuerte como con Norway, un tema poderoso y nostalgico, en verdad una evolucion en el sonido de la banda. Y evolucion es un atributo que muy, en verdad muy pocas bandas de esta generacion tienen, pues al no ser capaces de evolucionar, van quedandose en el camino.

Mondo Drag - New Rituals (2010)

Llego un año nuevo, estamos a mitad de Enero, el año esta arrancando, y que mejor muestra de ello que Mondo Drag, quinteto de Iowa, para comenzar el 2010.


New Rituals se trata de un álbum repleto de Rock, Psicodelia, Stoner, Progresivo y algunos toques folk. A momentos nos recuerdan a Dead Meadow, a veces a Black Mountain, y hasta a los Comets On Fire.

Temas como Love Me (Like a Stranger), Tallest Tales y la magnífica Apple, dejan oír la brillante producción llena de detalles y estridencia y atmosfera.
